Your eighteen-year-old self may yell, ”I got this”, but at thirty and beyond, do you feel the same way? Are you living your dreams, the life you planned and hoped? I’m not, ”I don’t’ got this”. I am not living the life that I dreamed about or the plans that I carefully laid out. Â My life has taken many twists, turns, and wrecks; most of them totally unexpected and many circumstances that created devastation. I can however say that I have learned a lot. I have learned that without God, there are no dreams to be. To make it through life there must be faith and trust in one greater than yourself.
I am a 38! No, I am not 38, but I scored a 38 on a procrastinator quiz with Mindtools. I learned that I was a mild procrastinator. I find my score rather funny, as I was procrastinating writing this week, by taking a procrastinator quiz. So are you a procrastinator? Continue reading What’s Your Number? Procrastinator Beware→

The first day of spring came on Friday; did you put out the welcome mat? Charles Dickens said, ”Spring is the time of year when it is summer in the sun and winter in the shade.” As I thought about that I realized that the seasons of life are like that too. We have the warmth of life when all seems to be going our way and then when the overwhelming circumstances of life come, the winter of cold hardness descends upon us.
Each of the seasons though provide their own beauty and each their own issues. Just like the seasons of nature we never seem satisfied with the results or we seem to always pine away for whatever we do not have. Seasons come and seasons go but they do not all happen at the same time. An unknown source said, “Time is nature’s way of keeping everything from happening at once”. We do not plant our gardens in the winter with freezing temperatures and snow on the ground but we do plan them, full of hope for the spring to come.
The goodness of God is so often seen all around us if we will slow down and just look, listen, and quietly observe.  This week the opportunity to paint with a good friend out at a local farm came about where the landscape continued to remind me of how wonderful the goodness of God is.
What are the necessities of life that you think you cannot live without? The modern world seems to have changed the thought pattern on life’s necessities. A survey completed last year in England listed 20 of the so-called modern life “bare necessities”. Continue reading The Necessities of Life: Needs VS Greeds→
