Glory: Revealing the Christ in You

Are We in Glory Days?

Many people are making a difference in the lives of others during the COVID-19 crisis. This week I read about children, as young as 10, receiving glory and affirmations about the innovations and ways their contributions are making a positive change. These young people, however, aren’t spurred to act to receive acclaims. Instead, they’re showing the world their true inner hearts that want to help others. The glory of goodness found within them is simply revealing itself to the world.

Many times, when we honor someone with praise for doing good things we tend to do so after their death. Perhaps that is because their contribution to others only came or resulted from their death such as a death bequest of money. But the world we live in today needs to see our goodness revealed in real-time, not after the fact. This reminds me of the story about a conversation between a pig and a cow.

One day the pig found himself complaining to the cow that nobody ever gave him praise with a kind word for him. “Look at the way I give of myself.” he said, “I produce bacon, ham, and pork chops. Brushes and luggage use my bristles and hide. Some people even pickle my feet and consider them a delicacy. Why is it then that everyone speaks kindlier of you, the cow, than of me?” To which the cow replied. “My friend, perhaps it is that I give of myself while I am still alive.” It is when we give of ourselves to help others now and today, that the glory of Christ within us reveals itself.

Glory One Day, Gives Hope Today

When things of the world seem uncertain, as our current world situation, we must remember the word glory. Not the glorification of this world but the revelation of God. Glory, one day, will come to us but not in the way that the world reveals it. True glorification is of God and what He has done for us. The revelation of the character and presence of God is why we cherish Him. One day, His glory will come to earth and it will be ours. It is on this day of victory that the revelation of the glory of God reveals itself to all. But we don’t have to wait until the end for its revealing. The glory of God reveals itself to us now if we look for it and utilize it.

The lives we live as believers reveal His character and make Him present to the world through us. This is glory in the here and now. Our life as a believer must reveal the character of Jesus and His presence to others in our daily journey. Through the way we conduct ourselves we reveal Him to others. We must strive to bring honor and praise to Him through our actions today. Christ prayed this for Himself and His followers.

All who are mine belong to you, and you have given them to me, so they bring me glory.

John 17:10 (NLT)

Revealing His Glory

When we choose to give our lives to Him and live fully, joyfully, and united we give glory to God. As united believers, together with one another, we complete the work He has given us to do. We must make all attempts to check ourselves before revealing a negative reaction in a situation or life. When frustrations arise remember that our actions, reactions, and life journey reflect and reveal the glory of God positively or negatively to the world.

When we live fully, joyfully, and united we live a life of peace and one of fullness that God created for us. Not only is this to our benefit but it reveals the character of Christ to others. Therefore, with this attitude and outlook, no matter the situation, we can hold our faith in all of life, giving glory to God.

Won’t you take the challenge to reveal the glory of God to those around you as you journey on in life? Find your conviction rooted deeply in the love that God reveals to you through His Son. Seek your motivation in revealing the glory of God to others today. Surround yourself in the comfort of knowing that one day the glory of God will reveal itself fully to the world. This is the hope of life and it is through this hope that we too can share with others basking in His glory

Love in Christ,

I believe that each of us comes from the Creator trailing wisps of glory.
